Starting Your Journey
What is EMDR therapy and how does it work?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy designed to help the brain and body process traumatic or overwhelming experiences that feel "stuck." It uses bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or tapping) to help your brain reprocess distressing memories and emotions in a way that feels safer and less activating. Before starting EMDR, we’ll spend time building trust, practicing grounding skills, and making sure you feel ready and supported. EMDR can help you reconnect with your body, reduce emotional triggers, and create new, healthier patterns of self-trust and resilience.
What issues do you specialize in?
I work with adult individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and family dynamics, boundary-setting, and self-esteem challenges. I specialize in sex therapy, including sexual health, intimacy, identity exploration, and LGBTQIA+ affirming care. My approach integrates mind-body connection, helping you build self-trust, heal relational wounds, and reconnect with your authentic self.
What is your approach to therapy?
I believe therapy should feel safe, empowering, and collaborative. I take a direct yet compassionate approach, blending trauma-informed care, EMDR, mind-body techniques, and relational work. Our sessions are tailored to your goals, honoring your pace and experiences. I focus on helping you deepen your self-understanding, build emotional resilience, and create lasting, meaningful change.
Do you offer virtual/telehealth sessions?
Yes! I offer both in-person sessions at my Edmond, Oklahoma office and virtual sessions for clients throughout Oklahoma. Telehealth can be a flexible option if you prefer the comfort of your own space or have a busy schedule. We can talk during your consultation about which format feels like the best fit for you.
How do I know if sex therapy is right for me?
Sex therapy is for anyone wanting to explore their relationship with sexuality, intimacy, and connection — whether individually or with a partner. If you're experiencing challenges with desire, sexual shame, identity exploration, communication, or intimacy issues, sex therapy can offer a supportive, non-judgmental space to work through them. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit — curiosity, growth, and healing are all welcome here.
What are your fees? Do you take insurance?
I am a private pay provider and currently paneled with HealthChoice insurance.
For clients using private pay, payment is due at the time of service. If you have insurance coverage outside of HealthChoice, I’m happy to provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) that you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
We’ll talk through all your options during our consultation so you feel clear and supported in the process.
How do I book a session with you?
You can schedule a free 10-minute consultation call through my contact form or by contacting me directly via email. This call gives us a chance to talk about what you’re looking for and see if we’re a good fit. From there, we can schedule your first session and start building a plan tailored to your needs.
Is everything we talk about confidential?
Yes. What you share in therapy is private and protected by confidentiality laws. There are a few legal exceptions such as threats of suicide/homicide, or with written permission if needing to share information with a medical provider, which we’ll go over together in our first meeting. My priority is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and free to be your full self.
What can I expect during the first session?
The first session is all about building comfort, safety, and understanding. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, your hopes for the work, and any questions you might have. You don’t need to prepare anything or share your full story right away — this is a space where you can take your time. My role is to guide, listen, and help you feel supported as we start your therapy journey.
I'm nervous about starting therapy. Is that normal?
Absolutely. It’s completely normal to feel nervous, uncertain, or even overwhelmed about starting therapy. Reaching out for support takes real courage. My goal is to meet you where you are, without pressure or expectation. In our work together, we'll move at a pace that feels right for you, always centering safety, self-trust, and genuine connection.
