Mid-Year Reflections — An Oklahoma Therapist’s Wish for You

Somehow the longest year, yet here we are, mid-July, wondering how we got here so quickly.

I don’t know what this year has felt like for you. Maybe it’s been filled with transitions, heartache, moments of joy, or the slow unraveling of what no longer fits. Maybe it’s all of the above.

What I hope is that this year has softened you.
That you’ve loved yourself a little more than you did last year.
That you’ve hugged the people in your corner a little tighter.
That you’ve noticed the small things like the pink Oklahoma skies, the smell of summer, the little rituals that sweeten your daily life.

I’m learning this too.
To slow down.
To let things unfold.
To stop rushing toward the next thing, the next goal, the next “when life feels easier.”

We only have this present moment.
And yet, I know, like many of you, I’m already mapping out school schedules, fall plans, business goals.

But today, I’m asking:
What’s your wish for the rest of the year?
What do you want to carry with you into these next months?

Whether you’re navigating grief, healing, trauma, relationships, or simply the weight of being a human in this world, you’re not alone. As a trauma and sex therapist, I know how deeply we all crave permission to slow down, to feel, and to connect.

And if your wish is to explore those deeper parts of yourself, to work on boundaries, healing, intimacy, or letting go of old wounds. I’d love to walk alongside you.

Let’s slow down together.
